Stephanie Dowdy

Dr. Stephanie Dowdy

Veterinarian

Dr. Stephanie Dowdy was born and raised in Alabama but grew up on the Gulf Coast and always had a love of animals. She never dreamed that she would be back on the Gulf Coast with her dream career. She graduated from college from a liberal arts college in South Carolina, magna cum laude with honors, and later graduated from Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Dowdy initially practiced in Alabama then honed her skills in Maryland in a high quality AAHA accredited small animal hospital. She then moved to Naples, opened and built her own hospital, but later decided that she would rather focus on patient care than business. Her medical interests include internal medicine, diagnostic medicine, geriatric medicine, oncology, feline medicine, nutrition, behavior, and welfare.

Dr. Dowdy is a super fan to Auburn football and athletics and enjoys watching almost every sport, but especially Braves baseball. In her spare time, she enjoys nature and sunshine, music, family and friends, and traveling. She recently trekked across Nepal to Mount Everest Base Camp and very much enjoys nature adventure. She has two older beagle mixes, Smoltzie and Lutzy, and an orange tabby named Hudson. She has 19 hens and enjoys her pastoral life in paradise. If you like fresh eggs, she is happy to hook you up!

Dr. Ronald Altman

Veterinarian

Dr. Ronald Altman was born in Montreal, Canada, and completing his undergraduate studies in Montreal, he attended the Ontario Veterinary College. After practicing in different areas of the country, Dr. Altman settled in the mountain town of Evergreen, Colorado where he acquired a veterinary hospital. Dr. Altman remained in Evergreen for almost a decade, where he enjoyed the beautiful mountains, fly fishing, the incredible wildlife, hiking and snowboarding—but, at 7500 feet above sea level, Dr. Altman decided it was time to head south, to Naples, and enjoy the warmth of Southwest Florida.

Dr. Altman developed an interest in veterinary dentistry, oral surgery and anesthesia. He has taken several courses in veterinary dentistry with internationally recognized veterinary dentists Brett Beckman, Tony Woodward and Ira Luskin. Dr. Altman spent a year studying veterinary dentistry in a residency program. Dr. Altman subsequently returned to private practice where he could use his skills to improve the lives of pets, one mouth at a time. To complement his dentistry studies, Dr. Altman now focuses the majority of his continuing education in the field of anesthesia, including having spent a week with Dr. Luisito Pablo (anesthesiologist) at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Altman is a proud member of the North American Veterinary Anesthesia Society.

In his free time, Dr. Altman enjoys spending time with his son, his Golden Retriever, his cat and three ferrets. Dr. Altman enjoys paddleboarding, exploring Florida on his Harley Davidson, traveling and taking in all that Florida has to offer.
